State Centre of Excellence

The Khelo India State Level Centre of Excellence are allotted to Telangana State Sports School with the concept for preparing the sports persons for ensuing Paris – 2024 Summer Olympic, in 3 sports i.e., Weight lifting, Rowing and Fencing.

About the school

The Government has established the Telangana Sports School in the year 1992 at Hakimpet, R.R. District, to promote the concept of “Catch them young and teach them right” for achieving the excellence in Sports & Academics with following objectives under the administrative control of YAT&C (Sports) Dept.,

Objectives:

To identify the highly potential children who posses inborn qualities viz., anthropometric, physical and physiological capabilities without any anatomical infirmities.
To nourish the children with scientific training methods to excel at national and international competitions.
To provide the sound academic background on par with sports.
